HOMELESSNESS HURTS. HEALTH CARE HELPS. If you are passionate about giving back to your community, we want you to join our team. Fourth Street Clinic, in downtown Salt Lake City, has been providing essential health care services to those experiencing homelessness for nearly 35 years. When you join the growing Fourth Street Clinic team, you're not just taking a job; you're impacting the lives of others.
The Lab Coordinator at Fourth Street Clinic works collaboratively with other clinic teams to improve overall health outcomes for persons experiencing homelessness through access to high-quality, evidence-based healthcare in a trauma-informed setting. For many Utahns experiencing homelessness, Fourth Street Clinic is their first and only chance at a diagnosis and ongoing treatment. By increasing access to primary medical care, behavioral health, dental, pharmacy, specialty care, health education, and supportive services we are a major partner in ending homelessness, promoting community health, and achieving across-the-board healthcare savings.
The Fourth Street Clinic Lab Coordinator role is at our main clinic at 409 West 400 South in downtown Salt Lake City and will also travel to some outreach locations in the Salt Lake Valley. This role provides direct care to our patients and manages the daily workings of the lab with another Lab Coordinator, the MA Manager, and the Nursing Director. The team assists primary care, behavioral health, and many specialty provider staff both at our main hub and at outreach sites with our mobile clinic.
Our lab staff demonstrates a range of talents that include clinical and administrative capabilities, providing many opportunities to positively impact patients' lives. This role is busy, varied, and requires enthusiasm, flexibility, and commitment. This includes taking a patient's medical history, collecting, and preparing blood and other specimens for testing, processing lab specimens, and maintaining lab supplies and equipment. It requires both phlebotomy and specimen-processing skills, so being an organized, multi-skilled technician is a must. You will also work with our Outreach Team to ensure compliance requirements are met through documentation and data collection.
Join this fun, dedicated, compassionate, educated, and resourceful team. Take this opportunity to specialize in an area you are passionate about, whether that is integrated healthcare, nonprofit work, or delivering care to the underserved and unhoused.

Why Fourth Street Clinic?
According to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, many people in the United States don't get needed health care services due to barriers such as a lack of transportation, affordable housing, educational background, or discrimination. FSC is here to provide services to vulnerable individuals and families, reducing barriers caused by social determinants of health. Wasatch Homeless Health Care, Inc. (doing business as Fourth Street Clinic) began in 1988 as a triage clinic with one part-time nurse, relying on hospitals for patient treatment. Today, FSC operates with a staff of nearly 100 caregivers and an eight-figure annual budget. Last year, we provided comprehensive health care to more than 5,000 unsheltered men, women, and children through more than 20,000 visits in-person on-site, virtually, or through our Mobile Outreach van.
Join a team of dedicated, innovative, mission-driven staff who seek to deliver healthcare to under-resourced members of our community!
Fourth Street Clinic embraces diversity, equity, and inclusion at all levels of our organization, and we strive for every employee to be comfortable being their authentic self at work. We are committed to building a team with a variety of backgrounds, identities, and ideas. We value greater inclusivity which yields greater achievements, fosters belonging, and improves access to high-quality health care for all as an essential human right.
